A different view of the world

Babess discovered the delights of travelling in a backpack today.  Daycare has an “outings” programme, and as part of her settling visit today she got to go out with a group of children and teachers.  She went with Fainjin’s group today, but that won’t be her regular group, I’m told.   Since she’s so light, she was the best candidate for a ride in the backpack.

She’s been carried in the frontpack since she was a few days old, but hadn’t been in a backpack before.  At first she was Not Impressed.  She cried and cast betrayed looks at me, holding out her hands and begging to be rescued.  I hardened my heart, told her she would be just fine, and kissed her goodbye.  Sure enough, as soon as she was around the corner – not even out the door! – and I was out of sight, the crying stopped.

Apparently she quickly decided that she liked the view from up there, and contentedly surveyed her realm while they walked through town.  When they reached their destination, they had some morning tea and fed the birds, which had her chortling in delight.  I can imagine it, but I wish I had seen it.  Of course, it would have looked odd, I would have had to have been hiding behind a pillar or something so she couldn’t see me!
