When the children get a small graze, bump or other minor injury, I often kiss it better for them.
Today on the way to school, Babess tripped over her feet. She broke her fall with her face. Fortunately, the grazes are minor, more gravel rash than true scrape, but I bet they sting. She also had little scratches on her hands and had bumped her knees.
I helped her up, and she shook me off, she’s such a tough little thing. She brushed herself down, inspected her hands and kissed each palm herself, announcing “Better now!” as she marched off.
