I tracked Santa LOOOOOOONG after Boo was in bed. It was so awesome!

As soon as Boo saw that he took off from the north pole (at 6pm) he locked himself in his room!

The tree decorations are miniatures of the large straw goats they have, um, everywhere. I found this on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yule_Goat. Ours came from Ikea (can't wait until they open one of those NZ!). The "christmas puddings" are truly a five-minute wonder, but it does help to have chocolate-covered marshmallow biscuits in every supermarket. Maybe you could try World Market? The US doesn't do chocolate cookies like we do, but WM probably has a British or Australian version. After all, I've heard they carry Timtams (and if you haven't tried those, you really should). Merry Christmas, Margaret!

I didn't know about this tradition of Goats in Christmas Trees! Thanks for the shout out, and the candy and cookies looks amazing. It's hard to believe that first one is as easy as you claim. It doesn't look easy!

That's so sweet!

Our tree went up without any fanfare whatsoever. And we have 2 (TWO!) ornaments on it. So lame.

Hi Jess! Vegemite is a yeast-extract spread, the Australian/NZ version of British Marmite. It's black and salty and you spread it very thin. It seems to be something you grow up with and love, or you just never get to like it. I have given some to US friends to try, and although most of them didn't hate it, none of them would buy it to have on their toast in the mornings! But if you want to try, look for UK Marmite in your local supermarket - in the US it can sometimes be found with the stocks and gravy mixes (it does make a good darkener/flavour enhancer for gravy).

Thanks for commenting :-)
