Playing favourites

In the morning:

“Hey, Fainjin, tonight Uncle N and Auntie T will be here!  They’re coming to visit!”

“And Uncle G!”

“No, Uncle G isn’t coming this time.  Just Uncle N and Auntie T”.

“Oh.”  He looked a little disconcerted.

In the evening, having enthusiastically greeted his uncle and aunt, had dinner and shown them his toys and books, he wandered out to find me in the kitchen, a puzzled look on his face.  “Mama, where’s Uncle G?”

And again this afternoon: “Mama, is Uncle G at our house?”

I suppose we know who’s the favourite!
