A practical apology

Yesterday, when Babess was flat and miserable with a tummy bug (yes, another one), Fainjin pretty much left her alone.  He tried to get her to play with him, but she wasn’t interested so he played by himself.

Today she’s better, and he’s the one who’s flat and miserable.  He was lying on the couch, eyes half-open pretending to watch TV, and she came up to him and pointed.  “Fainjin!” she said.  “Yes, he’s not feeling well, ” I answered.  “Ahahaha!” was her response to that.  I was shocked.  Who knew a one-and-a-half-year-old could be so mean?  “That’s not nice!” I chided, “Poor Fainjin’s feeling yucky”.

She looked at me steadily, then around the room.  “Teddy!”

“Yes, that’s Fainjin’s teddy over there.”

She ran over, picked it up, and tucked it in beside him.  “Ahhh.  Teddy Fainjin. Ahhh.”
