Fainjin and Babess are both really enjoying “Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus“, by Mo Willems, at the moment. We bought it years ago for Pearl, and have one or two of the other “Pigeon” books too. We have to read it at least twice a day, with the pair of them chorusing “Noooo!” at every page turn as the Pigeon pleads to be allowed to drive the bus.
Today on the bus on the way home, Fainjin looked out the window. “Look, Mama – a pigeon!”
“Oh really?” I asked. “Does he want to drive the bus?”
Fainjin glanced down at the book, which was in his lap – he’s been carrying it everywhere, then looked at the pigeon anxiously. “No,” he said seriously, “he’s walking”.
