How is it that on Saturday and Sunday (and Monday of a long weekend), Pearl is usually out of bed around 6am, taking great delight in being the first one up, gets dressed unbidden, and bounces into our room to “wake” us?ย Especially since every other day of the week she is a slug-a-bed, sullen and grouchy and refusing to get dressed until the last possible moment before ending up at school in her pyjamas?
If only we could reverse this situation, and bottle the solution to it, we could sell it to other parents and make a fortune.

It is a similar situation in our house. My girls can be up till midnight and still be bouncing out of bed at 6am on a weekend or during the school holidays. But on school days I’m dragging them out of bed at 8am.

When we find the solution, I’ll put your name down for a couple of bottles, shall I? See – I told you we’d make a fortune! ๐

True the world over, I guess….

I’d take a few bottles, too! But will it work for middle-of-the-night wakings as well? ๐

Because for kids, every day is opposite day! Where kids do the exact opposite of what parents want! ๐
