Monster-hunting

My children aren’t scared of monsters.  Oh no.  The monsters had better be scared of them.  Fainjin and Babess love to play “chase the monster”, and run all over the house giggling their heads off.

Fainjin will come out to the kitchen and say dramatically, “There’s a MONSTER!”

“Oh, ” I reply nonchalantly.  “What colour is it?”

“Iss gween!”

“And hairy?”

“Yup!”

“Better go get it, then” – and they’re off.  Poor monster.

The other day, Fainjin told The Dad there was a monster in the bedroom.  They tried to sneak up on it, but when Fainjin turned on the light, he looked around and said, “Oh, it’s gone now”.  I think The Dad was rather disappointed.

Tonight, we’re reliably informed, there was a Zower in the shower as well.  (Fainjin’s current reading material of choice is “There’s a Wocket in my Pocket”, by Dr Seuss).
